Converting A Tank Into A Gerbilarium?

I'm not sure if this REALLY fits here, but it seemed the best match.

After a lot of thought, I have decided to convert my biggest fish tank into a gerbilarium instead. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? I know that I need to drain the water obviously and that it will need a new mesh roof - but is there anything that needs to be done aside from that?

The tank is a Juwel Rio 125.

I converted a large tank into a home for my lovely rat Candy Darling. There's nothing more you need to do except I lined the tank bottom with newspaper before the sawdust layer for easier cleaning. Make sure they've plenty of things to clamber around on as they won't have cage bars to climb.

many moons ago i had gerbils in a 2ft tank half filled with a soil sand mix thay use to burrow and dig there tunnles and drag the nesting down with them and bred very well some of there offspring went to live in the local library. thinking about it must of been 15 years ago
