Contest Idea!

I had a thought for the Pet of the Month contest. So many of the members here have a pair of animals. For instance, I have a pair of rabbits and a pair of parakeets. I know that @StripySnailGirl04 @FishFinatic77 and @TheTenthDoctor each have a pair of parakeets, if I recall @PlasticGalaxy has/had a pair of guinea pigs. And lots of people have cat siblings. The thing that makes my rabbit Tanana so special is her sister Talullah. There isn't anything special about them on their own (don't tell them I said that:look:), but together they really complement eachother. But of course the POTM only allows one animal to be present/entered. What if once a year or something for the pet of the month there was a "couple" or "pair" theme?
I like the sound of that!

Do you think these two would qualify for @OliveFish05 's contest?

LOL, sorry it just makes me laugh when people get bitten by birds :)

Those Moluccan cockatoos are lovely but I think they were both males and one was definitely not impressed about having the other so close.
He was an arrogant little rat. I tried to feed him and he snapped me in the finger. Drew blood too. 🙄

There was a corella (white cockatoo) at one of the pet shops my sister used to sell rabbits too. The bird had a thing about toes and if you wore shoes into the shop it was fine, but if you wore thongs (flip flops) or went into the shop with bare feet, this bloody thing would jump off its perch and try to bite your toes off. It was horrible being chased around the shop by a psycho parrot trying to eat my toes :)

A fish store an hour from me has a cockatoo and 4 macaws (2 red, two blue and gold). It made me realize I have a fear of large birds! Large parrots, to be exact. A wild goose? Doesn’t bother me, we rescue those from our idiot neighbor’s fishing lines all the time. But a parrot, tame or not, freaks me out!

For this new contest, do they have to be sisters, brothers, the same species, close friends, or what? One of my cats and dog formed a bond together. She will go up to him and brush against him, the dog will try to play with her, and the cat understands he is a puppy. She gently paws at him. After a play session at the dog park (when he is tired), she will go up to him and lay next to him. It's really cute and special.

The same cat has a sibling. The boy, Napoleon, is a bully to her. For example, she (Willow) has this one hammock she is really attached to. It's been torn up, thrown up on, you name it, but she forms bonds with anything, counting inanimate objects. Napoleon never shows interest in that, but he will start a sibling war. She is minding her own business, and he paws at her and scratches her. Then it's all-out war. He is the bigger and more nimble cat, so he wins most of the time. He hops up into the hammock, lays for a few minutes, then leaves, and WIllow gets right back in it. Of course 2 wars is better than 1, so he does the whole thing again.

My 2 Desert Tortoises are siblings. They don't show affection, but they are cute together!

My Bearded Dragon is a loner. He dislikes my tortoises with a passion. He also does not like the cats (total shocker). Willow and Napoleon are gentle, and would not hurt any animal besides birds and fence lizards. Ever since Sunny chased Willow halfway across the hard, they give him all the space needed!
