I've had my tank for about 4-5 months, and I have 5 long finned black skirt tetras. I came home today to find this in one of the flowers. I recently moved too on the 1st, so all of the decorations and plants were cleaned. I don't think it's anything growing, and it wasn't there just yesterday. Not to mention one of my tetras was large in size. I looked up a visual tho and nothing I found looked like it. I found one forum post where the guy wanted to know what it was and saw his Neon Tetra lay it but no one knew. >.> And there were only 2 posts. So.. anyway, here is the picture. If someone can help me identify it I'd appreciate it. I'd like to know what the best idea for taking care of them would be too if it IS an eggsack.

Looks like an old chunk of food with nasties growing on it to me. It happens if the food sits in the tank for a while. :)

Thank you, maybe a pellet got caught in the plant. I just know it wasn't there yesterday when I fed them. So thats possible. The Tetras like to try and eat the pellets on their way down, they never succeed of course. lol But they knock em around.
