Concerts, Who've You Seen?

Every Ozzfest for the past 10 years or so.
Marilyn Manson just last year
Pantera, at least a dozen times, every time they were in the area, gotta love our home grown boys ya know

TOOL 3 times, greatest show EVER
AC/DC
Korn (meh)
Metallica, way back when they were actually good and worth listening to
Danzig ( :hey: )

 .....lucky

I usually go to rock festivals, which last the whole day. The biggest one is Big Day Out
Which past line ups have included Nirvana, Ramones, Mettalica, System Of A Down etc (which is pretty big considering i live in the most isolated city on earth)
And the other festival i go to is called Rock - It
Which is coming up in a few months with Silverchair!

My favorite bands are either dead or too old to tour right now, so there is a slim chance of me ever seeing them (besides AC/DC and The Rolling Stones)

I always wonder what a concert headlined by Hendrix, The Doors, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd would be like :p

Just went to see Helloween which has really dug up my love for Power Metal. Am looking to see DragonForce next time round (though this may have to be at download - still, a few days of metal is no hardship).

Previous concerts (barring smaller gigs for my, or my mates' bands) are Bon Jovi twice. First time at Milton Keynes Bowl (awful place for a concert) the second time was the penultimate concert at Wembley stadium where they had toploader as support (who I was really impressed with).

Two bands I would love to see are Panterra and Guns n Roses. Sadly I have no chance of either (25% of pantera is dead and GNR has completely split up).

If Van Halen ever come around I may look into it...can't beat all that hair/power metal!

Yeah I'd love to see GNR too, saw Velvet Revolver at Live8, sad to see half GNR reduced to that dross.

Couldn't agree more about Milton Keynes Bowl, saw Eminem there and it took 4 hours to get out of the field (car park) I was parked in, then they were trying to route traffic the long way around, fortunately I remembered the street my Auntie lived on and got let through and took the short cut

I'm just as sad as MAM.
:(

2 concerts ever, both in last 18 months: James Brown (excellent showman) and the Beastie Boys, which was fantastic.

As per Andy, Guns n Roses would be a mean concert but unlikely - unless they do a come back tour....(please guys, go on, for me, you can have anything you want Axl.....)

Would love to see the Wu Tang Clan but they cancelled the concert when that was supposed to happen, always wanted to see Michael Jackson, another unlikely one and would also like to see Cypress Hill - just because :D

Do I dare show my age? :/

Starting with The Jackson Five (yes, when Michael was a small black kid), The Osmonds, Andy Williams, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Wings (best concert!), Led Zepplin, Joni Mitchell, The Band, Elton John (worst concert ever!), Allman Brothers and there were a couple more but in all honesty I can't remember who they were as I wasn't under full functioning at the time if you get my drift!! ;)

Wow that is quite a list.

I keep all my tickets and programs etc and it turns out this is a habit I got from my mother, she gave me all hers a few years ago, so I've just been looking through to see who she saw:

The Beatles (3 times in 1963/4)
The Rolling Stones (1964)
Bobby Vee and The Crickets
Bobby Vee and The Searchers
Dusty Springfield
Brian Poole & The Tremeloes
The Dave Clarke Five
Jimi Hendrix

Not a bad list either

Wow! The Beatles, The Stones and Hendrix - good list.

My hubby did the same thing and has seen many, many concerts but mainly he's a dance / drum n bass fan so it's stuff like the Chemical Brothers, The Orb etc

That's one cool mama you got there Arfie. B) I remember my dad telling me about seeing the Rolling Stones for their first concert in the US. He grew up in New Jersey and New York.

back in the day
I was a big ska fan and have seen just about
every ska group going live.

At one concert featuring Madness, Bad Manners, Prince Buster, and the Specials and more (Hamersmith Appolo mid 1980's) My friends and I had backstage passes (Due to my friend Jamie dating Suggs' cousin). We were invited into Madness' dresing room and chatted with the band for 30 mins or so. Suggs called to Buster Bloodvesel as he passed the door and introduced us all. Buster shook hands with everyone
but when it came to me, he licked my forehead :) (That was his trademark)
As I was only young at the time I thought the world had stopped.

nowadays I'm more into opera and have seen the 3 Tennors, Lesley Garrett, Dame kiri and Sarah Brightman in concert or at recitals.

You'd think so wouldn't you?

However you should hear what she had to say about Hendrix, unfortunately I can't tell you on here here language was rather "fruity" and less than complimentary

The other trait I have inherited off her is that she also used to arrange going to concerts for her and her friends and she used to buy and keep the tickets, so I have about 10 Beatles tickets and they can fetch quite a bit on eBay. :D

I have to live through Dan who has seen everyone on the planet that was worth seeing. Guess that's what you get for growing up in 60's America......

So, back in 1980's England :( - I saw (in year order) Cliff Richard, U2, Shakin Stevens (mum made us go because it was in Corby and she was scared to go on her own), Japan, David Bowie, Screaming Lord Sutch (he kissed me), Robin Hitchcock (x3), and the usual bunch of has-been 60's bands, usually touring with the name and one original member, like the ones they have at Butlins

Sad and depressing when Dan's list reads like the A-Z of rock legends.

I have to agree with her. I wasn't all that impressed with Hendrix either. Even though I saw him with good seats in a small venue, I much preferred listening to his music on records.

I saw Janis Joplin though and she was fantastic! Led Zepplin was too. :D
