There's a "complete saltwater setup" for sale at my lfs, stand, about 15gal tank, a filter, lights, and there was other equptment in there as well. I'm guessing it has everything you need except liverock. It's £150.

Im just wondering if it is wrth it, or would it be cheaper to start a whole tank up from scratch? Im really considering starting a nano.

Check on exactly what equipment it has (lights especially if you plan on keeping corals). i went for an "all in one" type system but only because it was a perfect fit for the space I had. A lot of the complete reef systems have pretty nice tanks but the equipment is not that great.

okay. :good:

yeah i was thinking of having some corals and just one or two little fish with a CUC.

Usualy these 'complete' set ups - despite their name are just a bit under what is desirable. The thing that they all seem to fail horribly at is with flow rate. £150 sounds like it could be a good deal but it really depends what the complete set up includes :). The way i think about it is though is if you buy a tank and then the parts you know exactly how everything works and when you start getting rewarded with a beatiful tank you get the feeling that you've made it possible... breathes out. Seriously though money wise and stock wise if its all built in if you want to upgrade something its gonna be very difficult where as a plain tank is so easy to upgrade and customise. just my 2 cents on the matter

okay, i will have a think about it, cheers. :good:

I agree with Rhysi, a custom system does take a bit more leg work initially, but it's far more flexible long term.
