I have a 45 gallon tank right now with 2 blue gouramis, 4 two spot barbs, 3 tiger barbs, 2 cherry barbs, and an algae eater. I am thinking of getting guppies or neon tetras but don't know if these other fish do well with them. Could someone please tell me whether they will survive or not??? thanx alot.

I think you have some great fish in your tank...BUT dont put a guppy in with the barbs they will nip on occasion and the blue gouramis are quite aggressive specially the males. So i would not put guppies in with these fish. The neons might work if you get 5-6 of them and get them fairly large (if there is such a thing as a large neon  ). If you get them when they are very small the gouramis might snack on them.
If your looking for a schooling fish with color try the harlequin rasbora or some of the larger tetras like the serpae, bleeding heart or cardinal. If you try the cardinals make sure your tankis well established they dont like any surprises in the water chemistry in the tank.
Good luck and have fun :)

if i were you, i would get a few more tiger barbs! the more oyu have, the less they will pester others like the guppies

I just looked at my sig below... it doesn't mention that I have 3 green barbs. The gourami are one blue/opaline, one gold/3 spot, and one pearl all fairly large, mature and I believe male. The barbs are about 2 1/2 inches have had them all together for at least 2 years with the guppies and others and never had a problem, I guess sometimes you just get lucky with KIND fish, I hear others talk about agression between some of these fish - me, never. Only one that drives me nuts is the yoyo so now he lives in the 10 gal/planted fry tank (take that you big pest - now you are a baby sitter!!!).

oh yeah.......... does this help?

Thanx alot guys. I might try getting some guppies i dunno. Maybe I will start with non-fancy ones cuz there only 99 cents. What do u think about dalmation mollies with my fish??

Should be fine as most of the livebearers get along quite well. Soome mollies really like to have aquarium salt added to the water and i am not sure how well the guppies like this. Perhaps one of our guppy experts can add to this.
Good Luck and happy fish keeping :)
