One of these days, I will run out of newbie questions. Today is not the day ^_^

I was wondering how a betta would fair with guppies. I've read that if you have a 10 gal+ and it is heavily planted, they should be okay. Comments?

Very rare will a betta not attack guppies. If your guppies have dull colors and small fins and your betta is unusually peaceful it may be possible in a 10 gallon. I wouldn't reccomend it.

I have seen it done in the LFS which has surprised me.  I think for most Bettas it would be too tempting, but there are the occasional ones that are fairly placid.  However, I have also seen Guppies and Platies chase a Betta so it can also be negative from the other viewpoint.  I would guess Endlers may be OK, but not tried it myself so really not sure

Endlers often work, The lock man told me that as Endlers are so small the bettas don't consider them threats so leave them alone unless the betta is really stoopid.

My male spent a few moths with an angel tail guppie without a problem, my females live with it now along with three others. I have found there to be no issue with attacks one way or another.
Talltree01 my male isnt stoopid he has his mind set on constantly building massive nests and showing off.

It's pretty stoopid to build a bubble nest even though there's no female. lol. :p
