 Can anyone tell me if harlequins will be happy to join my lot : a siamese fighter, 2 gouramies, a clown plec and a few panda corries.
I'm looking to have a few small shoaling fish - any suggestions anyone?

Thanks

they'd be fine in most communities. they are small, peaceful, schooling fish (think minimum of six, more if you have room as they look real nice in a big grouping). though i'm amazed your betta adn gouramis are doing well together..............

Harlequins are very inoffensive fish. More likely to be billied then do any themselves.

They're pretty docile. My guys don't hurt any of the other fish I got. then again, I only have four...

While I concur they are docile tankmates, I'll sell you on their other pluses. They're a very nice looking fish. They're active. They school VERY well.

I have 10 in my 29g now. Just added the 2nd 5 today. The difference is... unbelievable. If you get them, get 8 at least. It's amazing. I couldn't be happier with them.

I wouldn't be able to fit that many :(
I take it that they are docile enough not to nip at my betta.

Not so sure about that... Schooling fish tend to nip, and if there aren't enough of them they nip at the other fish. You might want to consider adding other fish, i.e. livebearers, bottom feeders, etc. Not sure though, sorry. :/

no they won't nip your betta. can't vouch for what the betta might do to them though.......................

they'll be fine, just get a nice little grouping. (hmmmm, contemplates the idea of adding a school to one of my tanks.................. )
