Compatability

OK well then how many fish can i put in the tank? Also you said that clown fish should only be kept with the same species of clown, well what about True Perculas and Black Perculas. Can they be kept in the same tank?
Different species of clownfish CANNOT be kept in the same tank. The fish will recognize that they're different species, and will fight to the death.

Check to see if damsles are 1 or many (but not 2-3) I know some of the small fish i was looking at were like that. I believe some damsles dont get along either.

Right. The only damsels you can really mix as different species are the Chromis and the blue reef chromis. These damsels are the rare species that aren't territorial, and they won't fight or be as agressive as other species.
:fish:

i have 2 yellow damsels in my tank and i would like to add 2 clowns of the same kind i read that the yellow damsels are not too agressive so i shouldnt have a problem? i hope not i really like the damsels

, if you want your clowns to live in your anenomes, you will also need to get wild caught. Tank rasied will not go in them.,
this is quite untrue i have raised tank bred clowns and they have no problems going into an anemone ,also a domino damsel will also venture into a anemone ........

Wow, I have not had any luck getting them to go in an anenome and this is the first I have heard of them doing so. Cool, Tell me more, did you have a wild caught in the tank with them?

It is not just the presense of a wild-caught fish, if that affects it at all. Tank-raised fish will do it too.

Although they will do it, they might not do it right away. I have heard stories from friends of mine of clowns that have taken 7 months to go into an anemone. They knew it was there for the last 6 months, but they would just swim over it and ignore it.

My friend had just about given up on them, when suddenly, he came down one morning and found them in the anemone, as if they had always been there! You just need to be patient. They will figure it out soon enough. :/

I beg to differ, man. I had 2 Perculas and a Sebae in my 55 for three months. The only problem I had is when the large Sebae Anemone the Sebae had claimed was tempting the two Perculas. The Sebae wouldn't let them close, but they didn't fight to the death.

Also, I have in teh same tank now 2 Perculas and one Black Percula. The 2 Percs gave him hell in the beginning, but they co-exist relatively great now.

However, when it comes to mixing clowns, I would deffinately avoid Tomato clowns at all costs, and I don't trust Maroons either. Also, even 5 Perculas in a small set up would hate each other due to lack of claimable territory.

There ya have it-my two cents. 8)

I was just looking at your filtration, are you going to use anything besides a bio-wheel? If you're going to keep corals you might want to consider getting a protein skimmer and powerheads. They will make it much easier to have really good water quality.
Also, I think when it comes to clowns you should get just 2 of the same species, probably true, false or black percs and 3 blue green chromis. Then you could add an anemone, corals and invertebrates. Just make sure you have good enough lighting for the corals.
Good Luck :D
