Hi im just wondering how fast common plecs grow as ive heard and read a lot on the site about them being massive and things

Looking at anythink from 8-12 inch in the first 12 mnths if fed and housed adequately then slows down then on and yes they can get huge at an average 15-18 inches

One of my local fish shops has a tank in the entry with a few large plecs in the tank as an unofficial warning. They have a few that are about 18 inches long and as big around as my forearm. It is not a fish for any typical community tank and the message is very clear to anyone who sees that tank.

I bet they look amazing at that size

they do indeed m8 but only so many ppl have the facilities 2 house a plec that size specially when they can reach 24+ inches

Plecs are omnivores. They will eat what fits in their mouths.
