in my 60 gal tank i have 8 corydoras, 1 comon plec (about 5 inches) and i`m wanting to move a syno out of our tang tank to see if i can get them to breed, and as i know i have room in my tank due to some recent departures i was wondering if there would be a clash between the syno and the corys or plec....

well the corys and Common plec with be fine, but as for the syno, depending on which it is, if its one of the large species they eat small fish. so if your cories are fully grown they should be ok, but I personally wouldn't risk it.

for example:
I've kept upsidedown cats with cories, but they were Synodontis nigriventris, is they were the giant USDs your have a problem.

Hope this helps, you could try a divider, to get the syno away from the tangs?

its the common syno "Synodontis nigrita" it should only grow to 6 or 7 inches,
and i can`t see him eating any other fish in the tank as most of the corys are well on there way to being fully grown.
and the angels are very large

you should be ok then, as long as it is a true nigrita, as many species are labled as such and aren't :)

here's the little blitter on PC.com

as for the angels they're big enough and mean enough to fend for themselves I'm sure :D

Good luck with him :good:

yea hes definately a common syno. i spent hours trawling through planet catfish trying to identify him a while back.

thanks for the help.
whats JOMTS?

is that like a more advanced version of normal MTS?
