Common Pleco - Ill?

Hello,

Got a Plec couple days ago, it looks like parts of his back are drying up despite him obv being submerged. Kind of looks like he's turning into wood.

Any ideas whats up or if this is normal?

Do u mean his skin I sort of patchy. Like lighter patches? Mine does that every now and then, some say its when they are stressed. Mine does it every so often then he seems to grow a bit. Maybe its that.

Sounds like this to be honest.

Could be the stress of moving him from the LFS to a new tank.
