hi all,

I bought my son a pleco to go in his tank and it looks like it has ich! I am assuming its ich because it looks like someone dumped a salt shaker on him. The fish are not affected at all other then the odd flick or rub which I would imagine is the begining of ich for them.. I am treating for ich but I have never seen it on a pleco before. I have tested the water and everything is within the levels it should be. He isnt acting sick and eating fine.

Anything else I should be doing for the poor little guy?

Thanks

most ich treatments should ony be given at half dose when treating tanks with scaleless fish like plecs or loaches, check the bottle, if it doesn't say that its half strength, only dose half of what it says, also up the temperature to 28/29c (86-88f), make sure you increase the oxygen input too as warmer water holds less oxygen but speeds up the life cycle of the ich, making them easier to irradicate
