Could a Common Plec and Weather Loach be kept in a planted tank. I ask because the Weather Loach will dig into the compost, and the Common Plecs are herbivourous. It is not a sate of the art planted tank, but a simple one with compost on the bottom, then some gravel, and the plants are quite low light ones. Also, can the weather loach be kept at a constant 24 degrees, after it had been kept at about 19-20?

my commons like seafood quite alot they seem to go for it rather than any plants/veg or pleco wafers and so does my weather loach (and it will be fine at them temps mine is) but he does like to bury himself in the sand lol they should be fine if fed right and the plants will root and anchor themselfes down in no time but plecs are quite clumsey and could dislodge your plants when it gets big

how big is the plec?
how big is the tank?

At the moment the plec is about 4 inches long, and the tank is 4ft long.
I currently feed the plec sinking pellets once in a while, what kind of stuff should I feed him?

mine literally eats anything but they are just over a foot long cucumber/algea wafers/salmon/mussels/prawns with any meaty food try and balance it out with greens or you will have probs in the long run with feeding high protien fatty meat foods but mine loves them goes mad for prawns lol i will warn you the plec will need to be rehomed begining of next year at the most maybe even sooner but you do have a good volume tank they do grow big mate
