Common Freshwater fish!

I've never seen any bettas other than ragged veiltails.

I didn't even know other types existed until I joined this forum.

I rather like plakats.

Female dwarf gouramis, BGK. Although the BGK may not be as common, but you hear a lot about it in the oddball forum.

I would complain about my LFs, but because I've recently found them with true c. julii, true SAE, Sparkling Gourami, c. adolfoi, and plakats, I'll shut up about them. I LUV my LFs, especially since the three I visit all have at least 1 employee that really knows fish!!

The one thing I gripe about is that I've never seen a zeba botia. WHERE ARE THEY!? I WANT THEM!!!!!!

My lfs has a huge selection. But they have only a limited amount of discus and chicilids. (sp?)

My lfs has loads of BGK and it makes me wonder what kind of homes they'll all go to.

I've never seen ANY african cichlids. I mean I know they're not common in the sense that say, tetras or livebearers are, but I'd have thoguht I'd have seen at least some...

I'm fortunate to have 2 excellent lfs and 2 chain lfs, right on my bus line, and several more not too far away, but I have never seen a female of any of the new colored dwarf gouramis.

For those of you who want to get into breeding, why not talk to your lfs owners and see if they would buy fry from these fish if you were to raise some? Perhaps they have no ready source of them. If that's the case, they might be very happy to have a local breeder to get them from. It might be worth your effort to get your original stock by mail order. :D

Never see any good algea eaters. Flying foxes from time to time but no siamensis no bnoses no small common plecs nothing
