Columnaris?

R.I.P. Dolly.

Thanks Wilder. No signs in the other fish whatsoever now, I think the treatment has worked - I know that sounds odd considering what happened to Dolly, but I suspect she was ill long before she came here and the stress of being split from her boyfriend stopped her recovering as well as the others - she really was very stressy. Blade looks better than when he first arrived, a million times better - no signs at all on him and his fins are looking impressive. The platy that began to show signs (a silver mark just in front of the dorsal) is completely better.

I think it's today that we can redose the tank. Haven't decided whether to do another dose of the meds or whether to add salt at 1% instead, but either way I'm hoping we're over the worst now and back on track. The first job is another big water change. I *must* get a new hose, doing it by the bucket is a chore and a half!

I think I would go in with another round of meds just to be on the safe side.
Good luck.

Absolutely, thanks again for the advice Wilder. Have put in a 2nd dose of the bacterial meds and so far everything's looking good. It's going to be a little while before we add any more fish, and I'm thinking of giving the tank a round of Myxazin when/before that happens too, just to be on the safe side.

On the plus side, I'm getting another new setup at the end of the week, so things are looking up :)

I posted another thread on the NWCs boards for advice about adding another angel. On that thread I've posted what happened when I rang the fish shop about what had happened. Needless to say they weren't interested and I won't be using them again if I can help it.

Glad things are back on track.
So mad when shops don't care.
