hey there, was just pondering something about bringing fish to their best and most vivid colours i thought about factors like feeding and a varied diet, plenty of plant/wood/rock cover, dark substrates, a ph/hardness more suited to the fish then i thought lighting, and wanted to ask, is there any kind of lighting that i can use to really bring out the colours of a fish, my tanks hood is a bit er, unique, i can only fit in it 2 15w interpet bulbs that it was specifically designed for, is there any kind of led lighting that i can add to the hood just to use as an extra to enhance the colouring a bit more :) ?

Not sure what would fit yours, but there's certainly colour enhancing lights to buy out there. I bought a pack for one of my tanks- dennerle special plant and dennerle colour plus with UV stop for algae control and it certainly made a great difference in the colour of the fish and the tank. I was surprised it looked so much better.I've no algae either in this tank but not sure this is the light doing it or not

hmm that sounds nice, im jealous  i knew it'd be difficult if its even possible to find bulbs like that for my tank which is why i was thinking maybe some kind of led light strip could help then i can just stick it across the hood of my tank :D and then i started thinking about trying to make my own tank hood going completely DIY on it, dont think id be able to though, as my tank hood has a bulb either side and i wanted to get a couple of tube lights (probably 18inch ones) and make some kind of hanging lighting over the top of the tank so i could then have my plant light tube and colour enhancing one as well :D
