Coldwater?

Can you keep livebearers such as guppies, platys and mollies in a tank without a heater?
I heard that somewhere, but want to make sure.

You can but not really advisable, as they can get stressed to the temp being up and down, plus heaters are not very expensive.

I wouldn't, unless your house is kept at a constant 75-80. Even then heaters are good to prevent major temperature fluctuations.
