Calgary Alberta,
I was hopeing to grow some s. Petricola out before putting them with my cichlids, but I am limited on tanks and we are planning on buying one to bring thegoldfish indoors for wintering, What's an agreable tempature for the two fish, or what is max temp fer goldies?

Thanks

I don't thinkt hese fish can go together and I think it would hamper the syno's growth to put them in colder water than they are used to and change the metabolism of the goldfish by putting them in warmer than they are used to (especially as they had been outdoors).

Goldfish are designed for cooler waters in the way they feed and how their bodily system is designed. They can survive at higher temperatures to a certain degree, but keeping them with Synos is a no IMO, as said if you are growing the Synos on they will not enjoy the coldwater either.

So what would be a max temp for them, trust me i won't ddoi it if it's not gonna work but i'd like to look into it myself?

And another question cause I feel like a new thread, How do you winter a small pond without fish in?

Thanks for the replies
