Cold Water guppies ?

I just saw another web site the is pics of a blokes pond outside that has guppies in it, now i thought the must be a diffrent fish but they all have tail like the fancy guppies. Is this true you can put them in cold water ?

If they have been bred in coldwater they'll probably be fine as long as it's not too cold.

I have also seen guppies in ponds....they seem to be fine....but I hope it dont freeze over!! lol
