Okay I have, had I should say a healthy 32 gallon tropical fish tank, anyways my moron roomate filled up a large jar with water so that i top up my tank today.. The moron didnt rinse out the dish soap within the jar out, so that when i poored it into the tank, it instantly became full of suds. I ended up taking as many fish that i could out and put them into another container with decholrinated water, a few fish died quick after me putting them into it, so i grabbed another pot and transfered them into that 1.. As it is now, I have 3 algae eaters as the lone survivors, although that could change... My question is what should I do?? :-(

Shoot your roommate? :p
I'd either have a total stripdown of the tank,or,huge water changes and carbon in the filter :S

yeah the roomate will no longer be my roomate after this.. im actually baffled, i figure since i now only have 1 fish, i can do w.e.. im sure ill have to start fresh, but will i even be able to my same rocks again? or any of the filter pieces? i cant even find answers on google over this.

I think the total stripdown maybe the best option if you can rehome the fish for a little while, anything that you salvage from the tank will need boiling and serious scrubbing with fresh water

Im sorry for your fish losses
But the best thing you can do it start fresh.
Rince the gravel, plants , ornaments, heater and filter (except the filter sponges and media) under normal tank water. Add some cycling baterias to reintroduce the healthy bacterias. If possible give you last algae eater to a friend or family member who has a tank for a few days while the bacteria levels go up. Then re introduce the fish to your tank and take your friend to the Local fish shop and make him buy the fish he killed.

yeah well rite now, i have 3 fish total, 2 algae eaters who are just chilling in the crock pot in water i dechlorinated, and a black fin tetra whos lying at the bottom of it just breathing.. its like 130 am, and im drained because of this.. i put in a bit of food, at this point i just gotta hope they survive the night so that tommorrow.. thing is about the normal tank water being rinsed in the tank water is that all the tank water is contaminated.. im not even sure if because of this i can use any of the filter stuff..
