Hi all,

Im reading a PH 8.0 at the moment. I would like to bring this down to 7.0 or less. I have read many posts on DIY CO2 injection and would like to ask how good this system is at adjusting the PH level?

I have a 180 litre juwel aquarium with one live plant and many plastic plants. If I were to add 2 x 2 litre bottles of sugar, water and something to make it ferment will that be enough to lower my PH to 7.0 or less over 4/5 days? How many bubbles per minute would I need to lower the PH of a 180 litre tank?

Thanks,

Chris

use small amounts of thoroughly rinsed peat (moss) to naturally lower your pH.....i'm sure others who have used this technique can explain how much to use, etc.... IMO it is pointless to setup a CO2 system just to lower the pH

I just didnt fancy having brown water from the peat moss and this would have to be added each time I do a water change...

well you just leave it in your filter...and i dont think it would stain the water THAT much at all especially if it is rinsed..anyone else?
