Having a first go at CO2 with a DIY setup for a 10gal. Would a cheap glass diffuser such as this ebay link be better than a DIY reactor with a powerhead/pump?

I read that glass diffusers aren't as good as reactors as the CO2 is only distributed locally around the diffuser, whereas a reactor exposes all the tank's water to CO2.

Thanks.

They can both be very good. I personally prefer glass diffusers, although Ive not actually used a reactor, but they dont seem to live up to the hype often. Also, if you place the glass diffuser below the filter outlet the micro bubbles get blown around the tank so the CO2 gets everywhere :) Or place it below the filter intake, then the bubbles get sucked in and it acts like a reactor :)

Thanks Sam. I suppose the glass ones look better too.

Is a really cheap one (AU$10) OK?
