tiger oscars with different color schemes. nice fish. i would say wait till the jag is 6 inches

I don't understand.
Why should the Jag be a problem for the oscars. The oscars grow faster, and there is two of them for the one Jag. I have 4cons, 3jack demps, 2 oscars, 1jag, and 2 jewels. One in the tank now, and one recovering from illness in my hospital tank. It seems to me that there's enough fighting to spread around.

...jags are part of the big guapote family and they get around 14 inches in length with a good deal of body mass. these fishes are on a new level of agression, size, and specifically jaw structure. they are pure predators and probably will eat your convicts or jewels if given a chance. they will also kill both of your oscars and probably your 3 jack dempseys will kill each other. ill guarantee you that at least half those fishes will die if kept in the same tank. 75 gallons was meant to hold no more than 2 oscars, maybe a pleco, and lesser cichlids or dithers. even if you take the jag out you still have 3 jack demspeys that grow 10 inches respectively. the rule of thumb inch per gallon doesnt apply with cichlids because of the territory they demand. if you have a pair within your 4 convicts then youre just asking for drama since they will probably take out the other 2 convicts and maybe the jewels. at the size they look, they probably can take out all those fishes in the tank. i also dont think that adding 12 agressive fish together makes them less agressive. the only way i see that happening is if they cant swim and end up lying on their sides. not to mention the waste that these fish produce, youll probably be doing water changes every day. im against it, sorry.

I really appreciate what you are saying, there's a couple of points I don't really agree with but thats why there's forums. To get other owners opinions. I'll keep you posted, and we'll see who's right. Until then I truly respect your opinion, and i will not hesitate to call on your experties in the future.

I dont have to agree with ex-amp, i know he is 100% spot on. Those oscars are tiger oscars witch havnt got there color yet, mine was the same now look at him.
The oscars will be the pain IMO cause there going to grow alot faster than the rest of them, but when the jag grows up boy will you know about it! it wont think twice about killing any of those fish.

have you or anyone you know tried this.
ya, me, it doesnt work, only for the first 6 months then they want all there own space. Dont belive me, look at my pics in my signature there all in there own tanks now :)

that poor tera.

and why is there a tennis ball in there? I wouldnt think that is save for the fish. The bottels either as when they get they could break those and then get cut.
