I am very happy as this weekend i got myself 2 common clowns, only about 1.5" and it was touch and go to whether they would be ok with my puffer(green spotted). But gladly everyone is getting one well, for now anyway, touch wood!

the tank is a 33gallon, and i will now get an RO unit, live rock(15kg) an additional powerhead, and maybe another fish, and try a bigger invert.

how far can i stock this tank, current inhabitants: puffer that grows to 5" and the 2 clowns?

I was thinking maybe sometype of goby. I really like red/flame hawkfishes, but i think this will be too much.

what do you rekon?

thanks.

What are the dimensions of the tank? If it has a decent amount of swim space (i.e. its not a cube)you could probably get away with something like a scarlet hawkfish. The puffer is the biggest factor since it has a large bio load (they are messy eaters) and can be pretty mean.

its a 80cmX45cm(high)x35cm so, yeah, loads of swimming space and the lack of equipment and rock structure makes it pretty good.

Its funny, you hear all the things about the puffer and then if anything hes getting pushed around by the clowns

Something else i wanted to ask about, is, im thinking it will but, will a sun coral add to the bioload of the tank? seen as it has to be target fed and surely would act just like a less mobile fish?

thanks for your help!

You got them :good: can we see a photo?

I think you could probably get away with a goby, maybe a yellow watchman or a bi colour and maybe even a hawk,

The sun coral will add to the bio load as you have to spot feed, but you should quickly get used to how much it needs and if you use a 2 litre coke bottle over the top whilst feeding it should consume the food rather than it flying all over the tank.

Looking forward to the photos

regular weekly water changes of 25% are an absolute must - don't get lazy :p

I wanted to ask about RO units aswell, i think i want to use Osmotics, and i figure 50GPD is good?

Which one shall i get? dont want to spend over a tonne, keeping in mind i have to buy ball valves and the tap connector with that too:

thanks

Thanks guys, and yes Nemo, they are tiny little things  there is so much space for them to swim into, but half the time they seem to stay in about a foot squared.

what do you think RO wise?

thanks
