lowestoft,
my friend is giving up the hobby and he said i could have his maroon clownfish  but i already have 2 ocellaris clownfish the maroon clown is a about the same size as my clownfish which are small and was wondering if they would be ok together the tank is only a 20 gallon but im going to upgrade later in the year when i get the money. im going to upgrade to 250l tank is this enough for the 3 clowns, royal gramma, and yellow coral goby to live in at full size?

I would not for a number of reasons

1. Maroons are nasty and will most prob kill your clowns.
2. Mixing clowns in a small tank will end in some nasty fights
3. 20 Gallon tank is to small for a maroon
4. 250L is to small for more than 1 pair of clowns

Basically Maroons need to be in a tank with bigger fish and even then they can be aggressive :(

ok thanks i will leave the maroon for now what size tank would i need to home the other fish at full size?

Agreed. It would just be asking for trouble. A 250L would be more than enough for the other 4 fish. It would infact be plenty of room for even more fish.

250L is 54 Gallons
Maroon Clown requires 30 gallons minimum
Ocellaris Clowns require 20 Gallon minimum

LOL yes the tank would be big enough but they will kill each other it is ill advised to mix anenome fish in a small tank just because they will fit does nt mean that you should do it!

To answer your question on all in ones the only one I can think of is the Red Sea max at that size not a fan of these solutions you can get better value for money buying the parts yor self.

i will go for buying parts seperatly as the red sea max 250 is a lot more than i was hoping to pay surly i could set up a 250l for less than £1500 right?(which is the price my LFS sells the red sea max at)

Yip easily that sort of money is a 450L sumped solution :) I would recomend a sump if you can afford keeps the tanking looking good :)

ohhh i would love a 450l but have a problem with the space. as a ruff estimete what would u say a 250l with sump complete would cost im guessing at about £700
am i close?

update i would have the sump tank already if a 20 gallon is big enough i would just need the parts to turn it into a sump
