Howdy.

Bought myself a pair of clown plecos  Originally i asked the bloke to get one out the tank, then almost walked away, and asked for another, so now i have two

How often do they need to be fed? And what?

Bloke said i should feed them algae wafers, and i asked him to recommend me a brand and he pointed to the tetra ones (yellow packet), and he said two times per week.

Do i need to take any special care with them. Theres plenty of hiding positions, and a bit of bogwood in the tank they can cling too.

Thanks

Clown plecs, being panaques, will eat the bogwood as the main part of their diet, and then fresh veggies, and then wafers as a supplement. I'd give them some courgette (or another plec friendly veg: sweet potato, lettuce, cucumber, potato, broccoli stems - there's all sorts you can give them) 2-3 times a week, then wafers once or twice a week in between. :good:

Right.

So they eat bogwood, thats good. I may find my other bit of bogwood out of the cupboard and cut a bit off so i can place it in the corner so they can hide under that too.

So basically every other day i should feed them some friendly veg. Then 2 days in between i give them a wafer.

Will i need to boil the potato, or cucumber? Or can i just cut chunks out and wash them and place them into the tank.

Thanks

Trying to get pics atm :D
