hello folks. :D

I have a question regarding clown plecs.
At one of my LFS, they are selling a clown pleco that has white and black stripes.
Could a clown have this coloration or could it be another species, if so which one?

When I say white and black, I mean "white", not near white. :S

Plecs in the LFS often show their stress colours due to the environment they are in. They colour up when you get them home and they have a nice substrate and plants and wood or caves to hide in.

We bought an L075 from our LFS and at the shop he was greyish white with black spots. Since he has been in our tank he is now a lovely gold colour with black spots, completely different to what he looked like at the LFS.

This is how they are supposed to look:

Ours is pretty much looking like that now, can't get any piccies of him though as no camera. He didn't have any gold on him at all in the shop.

So it might be a Clown plec but just showing his stress colours. :good:

EDIT* that one's a para plec, not a clown plec!
