clown loaches

i have 4. i know they get pretty big but that takes a while and as long as you can re-home them when they get big thats fine. let me know how they get on.... good luck mate

well i work at petsmart, a large LFS in USA, and we got a shipment in that we have never before gotten, BABY CLOWN LOACHES!!!! YAY :D

We only got 7, and they are between .5 inches and an inch! They were so cute and tiny! I gave in, brought back my other two that were about 4 inches, and got 4 of them! I love them they are loving the big tank and love to play with all the fish, they are great, when i get my digital camera up and working, i will take pics! Thanks everyone!

Alright Awesome, can't wait to see the pictures.

Just remember that clown loaches that small could just die for no apparent reason. :dunno:

im aware, i have them all in my ten gallon for now to get them used to other fish, then i will transfer them in a day or two.

Alright I was just making sure you did in fact know, good luck with them :)

You seem to have removed your sig, but from what I remembered you were already heavily stocked.

i heard the rules about not having long sigs, so i moved my sig, u r correct, the babies will only get about 4 inches each in about a year, and i am not overcrowded. I have a lot of fish, but they are all happy, everyone has thier own spaces and areas! :)

I have a new question about clown laoches!!! And it is pretty urgent!

I am getting a BGK, and he is going into my 60 gallon, i made room for him by transfering out some fish, and when i get him he will be under 4 inches long, BUT would my little 1 inch baby clown loaches be ok in the tank with him? Or should i move them over somewhere until they get bigger?

in my lfs when we have BKG in stock they are always
put in the tank with our 2" clowns.
I hiope that helps somewhat.

yes that does help, i know clowns will grow to about 2-3 inches prety fast and slow down from there soi think i wil be fine, thanks a lot

i have a new question about the clowns, i know i have 4 and that is alot, so i gave one of the babys away to someone, so i have 3, but is 3 a little too much for my tank still or should i knwock it down to 2, i wont go one because i knwo they need friends, is 2 clowns ok, or should 3 be ok too, please help me :)

Its true that clown loachs can reach a foot long each and although i am no sure on how fast they grow i would expect it to be alot more than an inch a year, most likely more like 1inch per 2months- if you had 5 loachs in an essence you would have 5ft of clown loach in a 60gal, your tank is already pretty stocked anyways. 3 is the minimum group number for clowns but i personally wouldn't add anymore fish to your tank.

my tank stocking has been GREATLY reduced (moved the 2 african dwarf frogs, 4 corys, 2 paradise fish) so i was wondering if keeping 3 is ok, or if i could get away with 2, i am just aksing again to get peoples opinions and not starting a new forum topic...
