I have a 300l aquarium containing various community fish including my small shoal of 6 clown loach, the biggest at around 8 inches long.

I'm converting to a single species set-up but struggling to find a good source of healthy fish.

Anyone who has clown loach they want going to a good home or for sale at a reasonable price, i would be very interested!

I have transport and suitable containers to transport fish of any size and would be willing to travel for a good specimin.

The Tank

The tank measures around 4 feet long with a 300l capacity
Filtration is dealt with by 2 Fluval 405's aswell as a 600lph powerhead
Substrate is fine play pit sand which is very gentle on sensitive probing mouths!
Various sizes of bog wood and plants
The system is very mature at about 5 years old

Tankmates

As said above 6 clown loach
10 Kuhli loach (very small but not bothered by any other fish)
4 YoYo Loach

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that tank isn't big enough for Clown Loaches in the long-term. Would you not consider re-homing them and getting some smaller loaches (such as B. almorhae, B. histrionica, B. striata - there are many others)?

You're not bearing any bad news :)

The tank has been growing with the fish, first I had a 2 foot, then a juwel 120, 240 and now i'm at 300.

With the new additions a new tank will be planned just after christmas, hoping for something around 750L and swapping one fluval 405 for an FX5.

With 15 years experience you can be assured my fish are in good hands, but thanks for the concern.

Check out aquarist classified. There are some 8 inch and some 10 inch for sale on there.

Hi,
I've just upgraded to a larger tank which I purchased off eBay. It came with several fish that are too big for the tank. I have x2 clown loaches that are around 3 inches long. Would you be interested in them? I live near chesterfield which is off J29 of the m1 if you want to collect them. Cheers
