:-( This morning I stared at my 2 clown Loaches swimming together, happily scavenging for food. It was only a little baby less than 2 inches long! I felt so lucky the day I bought them at $3.99 each. This afternoon I went to feed my little loachis when I saw  I saw... :-( It was gone! Disappeared like magic, gone forever, no where to be found! I've looked everywhere in the tank. Did I do anything wrong, can anyone explain this to me? I'll be in my room mourning for my loach for the next 10 or 15 minutes, then maybe I'll go buy a new one. J/K Seriously you guys, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MR. CLOWN LOACHI? :dunno:

Did you check around the tank...maybe behind your stand/dresser etc?
A few months ago I couldn't find my rainbow/ruby shark anywhere. I finally found him behind my dresser(I couldn't move my dresser...I used a flashlight and saw him eventually) dead. :(

Good luck...maybe he is just hiding somewhere in a cave(assuming that you have something like that) etc.

What? Clown Loaches can jump out of their tanks? I already checked his little cave and he's not in there. Oh, that's bad...If he did jump out my dog probably had a good seafood snack! Urghhh! Where am I gonna find another $3.99 clown loach.

Well they are not known for doing it(or at least not as far as I know) but neither are Ruby sharks(although I know some have seen it...I never have).
I'm just saying that it's a possibility.

Aww I'm sorry. What about the place that you got him from? They might still have some small ones.

There are very few fish that won't jump. Most fish covered in this forum are jumpers, some incredibly so. It is always a good idea to keep the tank covered with a close fitting lid. I've found a clown loach on the floor before now.

That said, loaches are notorious for "disappearing completely" then turning up again one day.

I have 5 loaches and they sometimes dissapear for a couple of days. They seem to like tight spaces to hide in. Was your tank covered?

I reckon he's just hiding somewhere.

Good luck, hope it turns up.

thats wat happened to me and all my friends sed my dog ate him

but the ornamant i got u had to connect toigether and there was a little pipe under neath and he was in there

i hope your clown loach turns up

if your aquariums has cover glass, and lots of hiding spots, he'll probably be hiding away somewhere

the smallest of ours hides between the internal filter and the suction hanger bit...

now its getting a bit bigger you can see its tail so we know where it it :)

You guys won't believe this, it was in my filter! Maybe I was seeing things, but I'm pretty sure he jumped out from there this morning!!! He's OK, they filter cartridge probably kept him from getting smooshed by the filter. What a relief, I thought I was going crazy. Wow, I learn/experience something new everyday with this hobby!

Loaches just love a challenge, I've found some of my loaches inside my filter a couple of times.
Did they survive?
