That could be due to Nemo having one fin smaller than the other one so he can only swim in circles and not actually get to you.

When I used to keep Clown's they'd regularly molest my hands till they bled whilst doing tank maintenance

The cutest little fish and they hurt that much! Makes me not want to get them! Do they not get used to your hands in the tank then? I will most definately be wearing thick rubber gloves in my tank!
