seems like they are stll just establishing dominance to me then.
thanks for your help one last thing i read on the internet that the shakey thing is submissive behaviour and that they should stop fighting when 1 does it but mine seem to do it before they start fighting and then after not always thro sometimes they dont shake at all and just fight is this all normal behaviour for establishing dominanceseems like they are stll just establishing dominance to me then.
thanks for ur help is this why my clowns aint with each other as much now, they still eat together and attack my hand together there gettin quite a bite on them now, can they draw blood at full size i only ask as mine aint big yet and there got quite a bite on them. anyways back on topic the one i suspect to be the female has it own little place in between 2 rocks and sometimes she will let the male in and other times its a no, does it sound like im on the right path to getting a mated pair? Not abnormal for the dominate one to shake as well. Clownfish are odd little fish. "Shaking" can be used not only to show sub-ordinance but also to get attention, think of them as dating at the moment
Haven't seen my two clowns shake at each other in years

well, my clowns seem to love my hand, they just swim round and round it,does get annoying though.
when i first got my clowns they did the same as yours do now but after a few weeks they started swimming around more now they go where ever they want never sit still had mine for bout 2monthsmy 2 new perculas seem to spend 90% of the time ast the top left corner of my tank, at the back!
its annoying, cos they are such amazing fish, i wanna see them more
there are plenty of places for them to explore, rocks, caves, plants and polyps, but they just stay there
