i thought it was weird basically i have a tank running for a year full of bogg wood and a few plant potts and plastic plants, I removed the wood as it was breaking up and put lots of plasitc tubes in as my neighbour is replumbing the kitchen, went to work and came back and the clown was scaring away the brislenose and guppies, i cant even tell the differance in sex, i thought you could only breed them with hormones given to them! that is why i was asking if anyone knew wot they looked like?

PH was slightley acidic (just registered away from 7, ammonia was zero I add stress zyme weekly could not tell you rest as i need a new test kit

Clown Loach eggs are supposed to be large and green, they migrate from there normal surroundings and breed in quite different conditions. They are not routinely bred without special techniques.

Ancistrus, (Bristle Noses), on the other hand, breed like rabbits - my bet.

it is not clown eggs then theese are yellow, however the clowns were the only fish big enough to give that much spawn and were protecting it! Thinking about it they probably thought it was food, at a inch though i would of thought they wer to young to breed i can only just sex em

Do the eggs look anything like these?

That'd be my bet too.

Clown loaches CAN breed in a tank without being injected with hormones, and it does happen, just not very often.

Interesting reading. Slightly confuzing, but once you get the gist, its very informative. The only problem is, as it said, clowns grow very slowly and would take yeeaarrss for them to reach maturity. But, interesting to try :dunno:

That story has been around for years and many believe it to be fake. I have read a detailed experiment which was carried out by some top aquarist's who tried to replicate exactly what happened in that story but failed many times over, Ill try dig it up for you.

Nobody has bred Clowns in the aquarium IMO as it would be all over the net so it would be hard to miss it.
