Clown and Butterfly Pleco Compatibility

Hi

The LPS that owes me 2 Plecos, finally has the 2 types I'm interested in, so now I have to choose if I buy either:

2 Clown Plecos

or

1 Clown and 1 Butterfly Pleco

would it be a problem if keeping these 2 types or should I stick only to the 2 clowns, I've read that it's ok for clowns to be in pairs but not sure about 2 types in the same tank.

Size won't be much of a problem (I think) since clowns reach 10 cm (4") and Butterfly Plecos reach 12 cm (4.8")

They will be housed in a 75 Gal tank btw

wont be an issue in a large tank

with good hiding places we have 4 different types - 5 plecs in a 100L tank - with no issues.

we got quite a few now... not as many as some on here

we've got 13 at the moment ( 8 different types).
3 of them will get to 12"+ the others are all smaller (max 6")

we have them in 3 different tanks at the moment (we've just moved) the shed will be housing the ones I want to breed (quite like the idea of butterfly plecs for breeding too).

Just about to get 5 more and later in the year i'll have the money for a group of zebra plecs

as for types... we have

1 L134 - Leopard frog (see the "sexing L134" thread in the catfish section)
1 L014 - Goldie
1 LDA33 - Big white spot (got him last week)
1 L075 - Para
2 L180 - Round mouth
5 L129 - Colombian Zebras (fingers crossed they are soon to be a breedign colony)
1 Common Bristle nose (we kept one after breeding them for months and selling the pair - 5 more are on their way for the breeding shed)
1 common plec - see sig

yup gotta agree with Smith too, not even a prob!

When I had my 72 gallon I had 1 Clown pleco, 2 BN, 1 big white spot, and a 1 medusa head (that died, that I then got a new one in the new tank)

As long as there are lots of hiding spots so that territory maybe established, your fine!

actuallly I haven't seen them phisically, I called them this time since they usually don't have the type that I want, but they also sell those Butterfly loaches, at least I know they are not Plecos so I will know if they were wrong

I would get one of these but they like colder water than the other tankmates
