Cloudy water

Hi, my tank has been up and running for a couple month now, I clean the filter every couple weeks, and change about 25per cent of the water but it always looks cloudy, it is a 4ft tank with only a few fish. any tips or help please.

Could you please elaborate what do you mean by cleaning the filter. What fish do you have in your setup right now.

Sorry, I rinse the filter pads in clean water but not the charcoal bags or ceramic bits, I have one tiger Oscar, 2 silver dollars and 1 plec. there is no live plants in tank, just gravel and rocks.

Were you changing the water every 2 weeks from when you first started your tank?

Yes, mainly because of the cloudiness.

Is the tank "cycled"?

It may be bacterial blooms causing the cloudiness.

What are your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?
