:/ What is the best cure for cloudy water? All my water stats are good.It is usually worse after I do a water change. The water is a white cloudy and you can see tiny particles floating in the water. I heard acc clear was good but wasn't sure what to use. I have a 30 gallon fresh with two 70 aqua clear filter and a airstone. Any Ideas? Brooksie

How long has the tank been running? You only need one of those filters. What are your water stats before and after a vacum cleaning? What and how many fish do you have in the tank? Did you cycle the tank?

I know one filter doesn't do the trick. I have 6 neons, 3 platys, algae eater, 3 other tetras. The tank has been going for a 6 months. My water stats are all good ammonia 0, Ph is 7.1 and nitrate and nitrite is also 0 before and after vacuuming. I know there are products on the market for clearing up cloudy water just wanted to know which one is the best.

Has it ever cleared and then became cloudy or this has been constant? SH

It does clear up about 4 or 5 days after I do a water change. But it never gets crytal clear. It always has the whitish look to it.

Cloudy tank syndrome is usually a bacterial bloom that occurs in the early stages of your tank, right after cycling. It's sort of...well...I like to say a 'primordial soup'.....all kinds of nutrients hangin' around which allows bacteria to grow and cloud up the water. It usually is self limited and my tank took 2 months to clear.

If yours is still cloudy, I suspect that maybe you're overfeeding and have high nutrients...or...are you adding anything chemically to the tank? Thanks. SH

When my 10g had cloudy water I just cut back on how much I fed and didn't do any vacum cleanings or remove any water just fed the fish and it cleared up in a few weeks.

I too have the same issue. My tanks been running for 9 months and still has never been crystal clear. I feel awkward about putting chem's in but then again if it doesn't hurt i'll give it a go.
