Hey everyone.

I put sand in my tank the other day(Tuesday).
The tank is a 20G(2ft) and the filter has been running all night, I was wondering how long it takes
for the water to clear up?

I washed the sand before it went in also.

Thanks

sometimes it can take a coule of days to be cleared, and make sure filter isnt blown sand about as well

What media have you got in the filter? If you don't already have some, it might help to add a layer of filter wool?
I've been setting up a small tank with sand, with a little internal filter that came with just a piece of black sponge inside. Washed the sand very very thoroughly, but like yours, the water stayed cloudy, and wherever I positioned the filter (not much choice in a small tank), it seemed to be just stirring the dust. After a couple of days of this, I replaced a chunk of the black sponge with some white filter wool. Within a few hours the wool had gone sand-coloured and the water was looking better - so I rinsed the wool out regularly and the water cleared completely within another day and a half, and has been clear since.
Hope this helps?
