Cloudy/Greenish water

I posted a similar product for the same problem a few days ago. Don't know if it was yours or not. From previous experience.......Try "Algae Destroyer" in liquid form. It will kill the algae. But you need need to vacuum and change the filter several times to clear your water. Takes time and patience. But it works!

yeah, I'm willing to give it a shot. The water change again today seemed to help... though, maybe my eyes are lying.

If I'm already adding pH reducer, should I be concerned about adding that additional product as well?

I had green water a cuple weeks ago. I did a total blackout(coverin g the tank with thick blankets) and left it that way for 4-5 days. Other says dont peek, but i did anyway, and even even fed(once tho). After day 4, the tank is clear, although a little brown(from dead algae perhaps?), but its tottally clear now, and the green water hasnt come bnack in 3 days.


About the ph reducer, that might be the culprit.Most use phospahte. High phosphate=algal bloom.

I just went through this with a 55 gallon tank. I found that the diffusers looked like they were doing good, because the bubbles where still coming up and everything looked like it was working good with the underground filter, but when I changed the diffusers, ohhhh myyyyyy. The crap that was sucked up from the bottom was so much that it took 2 hours for the filters to filter the garbage out. Then I had to replace the filters again. After that, the tank stayed clean and the algea wasn't a problem anymore. Diffusers are cheep, and they should be replaced regularly.

Because someone might ask questions about the answers I give is a great thing. I could be wrong and then in the end I will know the answer, so I learn something. That's a great thing, imo.

Agree. but lets not forget that every tank is different. i mean if you put two tanks of the same size, flora and fauna, and the same water quality, they shud still be different.

Keep us posted on whats gonna happen in your tank!

You are very correct tho, either way. All of our experiences are different and we could all post something totally different, but each post is correct because it's what we all went through and have experiance with.

My dog died, er, was euthanized Wednesday night, so I haven't been as on top of things as I'd like to be, but I've done 2 cleanings, haven't fed, and kept it covered, and things are coming along nicely. THanks guys!

I wrote what happened to her in the household pet forum, it was really helping me to express what was going on and stuff... incase you cared to know, but I understand if you don't- it wasn't a happy situation. Thank you for your condolence, however.

My water is still a little foggyish, but no longer has a green tinge- has it evolved into something else?

Anyways. I think its just normal for your water to be like that. That happened to me too.. but its kinda brownish. But the cover up did get rid of the green menace for me
