close bulbs

hello everybody
i would like to ask if it is ok to place flourescent bulbs quite close to each other (less than an inch) will it produce too much heat? or other problems? i have an overhead space problem u see

Unless you are going really crazy, no, fluorescent lamps don't preduce vast quantities of heat, the starter units might though, so keep them away from the tank - not difficult.
