Hi,

I was hoping someone could help, I have just planted out my aquarium and noticed tonight a clear jelly substance along a piece of my driftwood. It's slowly releasing bubbles to the surface where they are collecting.

Does anyone know what this is and the best way to get rid of it?

If it's mould I'm thinking that as one of the sera fertilizer tabs ended up int he tank and not within the substrate it may have helped feed it.

I'm also concerned about water flow as there isn't much at present. I'm using a Fluval U2. The tank isn't too heavily planted yet as I'm building up in stages.

I tried looking at the algae images but I can't view them so sorry if there is an obvious answer.

Thanks for your help,
Adam.

5 Glass shrimp

Its just a type of mould that some wood produces underwater, if you have shrimp they tend to like it but if not you can clean it off, it may come back once or twice but will go in the end.

Thanks,

I sucked up the mould through a spare airline but then decided to take the whole piece of wood out for use at a later date!

I think there was a bit much for my 5 or 6 glass shrimp to munch through.

Just seen your Pico DIY LED, I was just going to do some google searching on that subject today so very fortuitous! Looking good, cheers for the guides!

All the best,

Adam.

No worries dude, glad ya like the guide, very simple and cheap to do, if your doing a pico there's a guide of mine for a external filter too. :)
