Cleaning The Outside Of A Tank

When my daughter puts little hand prints over my tanks, I cut a lemon in half and rub it all over the glass, then polish the glass with newspaper, then with a soft yellow duster. :good:

The lemon cuts through all the grease and completely dissolves any salt creep, it leaves the glass sparking clean and it smells lovely.

Best of all it won't harm your fishies :hey:

Nice use of a simple weak acid, thats brilliant :D

I first clean the glass with tap water and then paper towel to wipe it off. Then I use towel that have windex on them and then wipe the extra with paper towel. Looks good and their is no danger of spraying windex in the tank.

With my tank, I have found that cleaning with a cloth is too much trouble, especially when there is some salt water drops on the glass already.

Everytime i clean with a cloth, streaks are left behind, even when i use glass cleaning products.

I have found that a great way to clean it is to use a squeegey thing... the stuff that u use to scrap off excess water when cleaning windscreens or windows.
Ikea has a nice cheap one.

just wet the glass with a wet sponge or cloth (water from the tank works too for me), and squeegey it off....

ps. im not sure if i spelt squeegey right... but i hope u get me.
