Cleaning Sand?

Hiya,
I'm here again! Can anyone tell me the best way to clean debris off sand substrate. I've only ever used gravel before and i used a gravel cleaner (syphon). Surely this would suck the sand up as well...!!
Also, does frozen food (thawed of course) make fish poop more than flake??

About the sand, you can use the syphon you used for the gravel. All you need to do is swirl it a couple of mm above the sand and watch all the muck being sucked

Sometime i feel my questions are a little daft but I'd rather look like a t*t than do somthing wrong

Or go through the top of the sand with a course net. This is easier

I agree, I use my gravel vac thingy and it lifts all the debris off nicely and leaves the sand alone.
