Hi guys and girls

I have got a rock in my tank that slowly over the last year or so has been slowly getting black. Its quite a textured rock so cleaning is quite difficult! I have tried pressure washing it, scrubbing with a nail brush but nothing is seeming to get it off. I can remove it on parts of the rock that are smooth, but especially in the textured parts it won't shift.

Anyone have any ideas of how I can get it off, and get the rock back to a nice light sandy colour? I have not tried using any chemicals for obvious reasons ;)

Thanks in advance
Rich :)

jet washing is the best, but try socking it in boiling hot bleach and then wash off with fresh water and leave to air for a day befor putting back into the tank.

Have you tried soaking it in tetra aqua safe neat then scrub and rinse with boiling hot water then cold tap water then soak in tank water or water with correctly diluted aqua safe.

It worked wonders for my ship wreck. worth a try.

ok thanks for the replies guys, not too keen on the bleach method as the rock is quite porous, but i'll give the aquasafe method a go and see what happens :good:

Cheers!
