Edit: sorry I thought you said 2222.

A 2224 should really be able to cope with that. Are you using the eheim media ? And are your pipes the correct length (i.e. not too long and hanging in loops at the back of the tank ?)

yes it came as a set costing £120, i think it was the instillation set

It helps a lot if you can answer all the questions in one go, and not drips and drabs.....

yes they are the right lengh if not wht happens

If not, you will get a reduced flow and subsequently reduced performance.

It's really not a bad thing to clean out your filter every couple of months anway

yes but i have to clean mine out every 2-3 weeks especially my white pad
