Cleaning Old Tanks & Equipment

realise this is an old topic, but something for the musings for people, it is what I use for cleaning any fishy equipment: ammonia based household cleaner!

Are you being serious?

yes, on the outside only.....

or very well diluted and rinsed on the inside, however i never recommend any type of cleaning agent on the inside except water

I've changed over from a 60 liter tank to a 100 liter tank few months ago and had to clean it out a bit on the inside,
the only things I used were warm water, scourer sponge, a brand new stanley blade and bucket loads of elbow grease.
i find that stanley blades and a scourer sponge are the best things for cleaning glass.
