I TOOK ALL MY FISH OUT OF THE TANK COS I WAS TAKING THE GRAVEL OUT TO RELACE WITH SAND. I PUT MY FISH IN A BOWL, AND CARRIED ON WITH THE TANK.I CAME BACK IN THE ROOM AND THE TWO TETRAS AND A KISSING GOURAMI WHERE ON THE FLOOR, THE KISSING GOURAMIS HEAD WAS ALL READ AND HAD DIED, :byebye: SO HAD ONE OF THE TETRAS. :byebye: I PUT THE TETRA BACK IN THE WATER AND IT STARTED TO COME ROUND. SO WHEN THE FISH TANK WAS READY I PUT THEM ALL BACK IN, BUT THE TETRA DOESNT SEEM TO BE HIMSELF WILL I HAVE DAMAGED HIM HE WAS PROBABLY ON THE FLOOR ONLY A FEW MINUTES.HE JUST SEEMS TO BE HOVERING AROUND THE TANK,SWIMMING SLIGHTLY TO ONE SIDE :/

Traumatic to say the least. He will recover. If not then I am sorry. I had a betta jump and land in dog food. He survived, only God knows how, and I hope that your little one does too.

i had a white tipped catfish jump out of my tank too, I had just bought it a mate and as I was floating the bag in the tank, I think he was a bit too excited when he saw its new friend in the bag that he jumped on top of it and bounced out of the tank! He was out of it for just under a min and once he was put back in, was really lethargic and was not himself at all. He seemed to pick up once the new mate was put in. it did take him about a week to start eating again though

keep checking your tetra for bacterial infections, when fish are stressed they areprone to catch them

i hope its ok

That is sad about your little guys who passed away. :byebye:

As mentioned your tetra who survived is traumatized from what happened. Put lots of stress coat in his water and he should come around.

Good Luck!

Betta that jumped into dog food. Haha i just came back from vegas and i saw that for some reason my female betta got in with my male, eventhough I have a tightly secured divider. Still a mystery. I separated them and they are prefectly fine except for a few mangled fins that i am treating with melafix

Everytime I go to feed one of my bettas she will jump in with the male, I moved them to bigger tank she still does it, so I am making a lid I can feed her through without removing.
