Cleaning Gravel Cleaner

Hmm... not sure if this post goes here but it seems to be the best place it fits.

I bought a gravel syphon cleaner thingy, that has a really long thin tube. It's starting to get a bit grubby inside the tube, where i can't get to to clean/dry it. I was wondering how you lot did it -if you do. It's baffeling to me. Will the stuff inside the tube cause any problems?

Shall i just buy a new one? lol

Mine is the same way, and I have never cleaned them ever. Because the water is flowing out of your tank through this tube - its not really posing any risk in my humble opinion.

Tie a pipe cleaner to a long bit of fishing line. Preferably quite a thick bit of line so that you can poke it through easily. But as people have said - it's not going to do any harm

I just think it looks skanky. I might try the fishing line one. hmm... hassle!! Hehe
