hey guys, i just cleaned my tank and decided it had been a while since i did my filters so i cleaned em n they were disssssgusting (when is it time to change them?) so i cleaned em n the syphoned water from the tank n put em in, well as soon as i started up my filter again...... a huuuuuuuuuuge green cloud just engulfed my entire clean tank :-(. n i just did a big water change in the clean. what should i do?

when is it time 2 change a filter?
is there any real way 2 get a tank at its cleanest with out seein poop movin at the bottom a few seconds later? i already use a python, pleasssse help :-(

Is it a sponge filter as you are only meant to slightly rinse one sponge in old tank water.

That should be good enough did you clean out the filter housing too? as you said you had a green cloud???

What make of filter do you have?

I had the same trouble with my bio life filter in my hagen tank there was sludge in the filter casing...boy did it stink  . I decided to invest in an external filter as the bio life really is getting on my nerves!!!

its a sponge, the brand is penguin. it has a bio wheel n 2 sponges, the slime mite have come from the housing, would it harm the fish?

Sorry can't help no nothing about that type of filter or bio wheel.

I have had that same problem 3 times and each time I have just let the filters soak it all back up again, it doesnt take long and in my cases i have had no probs with my fish.

whats a top of the line filter for a 29 gal, i aint 2 impressed with what i have rite now, alot of stuff floats the water
