Yes. The tank is sitting on the ground. With all the underground utilities in our area, you don't want to go digging around and damage something. So much easier to put it above ground and a lot less work. I do need to heat the water in the winter, even though the tank is insulated. I'm just a little north of Denver, so the winters can be a little chilly and without the heater, the water would freeze. The trough is 300 gallons, so even the larger Goldfish have plenty of room to swim.
